Formal Educational Testing

Psychoeducational Assessments

An Educational Diagnostician or Neuropsychologist administers a psychoeducational assessment. The assessment consists of a battery of assessments used to identify areas of strength and weakness in a student's learning profile. This assessment provides a deeper understanding of your child's educational abilities and profile.

Assessments are delivered in a one-on-one setting for several hours over the course of one to two days. Katy Vassar, our Educational Diagnostician, is also a CALT-QI and highly educated in the area of dyslexia.

Katy Vassar received her Bachelor's from the University of Texas, majoring in Special Education, and her Master's in Special Education specializing in Dyslexia and Educational Diagnostician through Midwestern State University. She received her dyslexia therapist training at the Scottish Rite Dyslexia Center of Austin and went on to become a Qualified Instructor. Katy has worked at the elementary and secondary level as an educator and therapist for the last 17 years. She currently works privately with students providing dyslexia therapy, trains educators, and provides psychoeducational assessments. Katy is passionate about her work with children and is dedicated to supporting the needs of students with dyslexia and other learning differences.
